Explaining Trading Terms
Long – buying something with the expectation that it is going higher.
Short – selling something with the expectation that it is going lower.
Bid – one side of the order book where you have a limit order and expect to buy something that has not yet achieved this price.
Offer/ Ask
Size
Filled/Fills – filled means my order got filled
Vol – vol stands for volume or volatility
Position – what’s your position at the moment – long or short? what’s the size?
Scale
Liquid – thin/thick
